Modified Bet 2009

New proposal: Every month we will add on something new to the previous months criteria.

January: No soda (diet is okay... although probably not applicable for us)
February: + No sugared drinks (Gatorade, Lemonade, etc.)
March: + No candy
April: + No cake, brownies, etc.
May: + No ice cream
June: + (other ideas or add-ons?)

Let me know what you think.. we'll start slowly with January being no pop!

Sweets for the day or HOUR

Okay, I wish we could do 24 hour cheat days. I got together with my old friend Lynn from Arizona tonight with her hubby and we went and got gelato! Too bad my cheat day for the week started at 7:30pm and ended at 9. Lame. But there you have it. My cheat day is over with.

Oh and Kate- email me so that I can 'invite' you to be a contributer on this blog so you can post about your sweets and whatever.

New Deal: September 2nd

I say to take advantage of our last holiday...
so enjoy your Labor Day and we'll start September 2nd.

Rules:
1 cheat day a week
Day = Saturday, Wednesday, etc... not a 24 hour period! And this only applies to your local time zone! :o)

NOT Allowed:
No soda!
No ice cream, gelato, frozen custard, sherbet... you know!
No desserts! (Unless its something like yogurt and fruit or something!)
No candy!


Allowed:
Granola bars (as long as its not chocolate covered - like Kudos or something)
Diet sodas... AND Izze drinks (100% fruit juice with carbonated water)
Fresh, frozen, canned fruit (although the canned fruit has to be in 100% juice NOT heavy syrup!)

Can't think of anything else right now...

starting new. starting fresh.

Oh. i need to cut back a bit. {or maybe a lot}

so for the last two months, i was eating organic food all day. from 7-6. and i came home starving and craving sugar. and soda.


so now that i'm NOT doing that crazy unhealthy schedule....i need to cut back the sugar.

I am proposing a new idea.

RULES:
One Day Per Week cheat day.
not 24 hours. but one week/weekend day.

this means- 6 days per week:
no candy.
no soda.
no sugary filled drinks. {gatorade, etc.}
no cake. brownies.

you may still eat chips if they have 1 gram or less of sugar.
you may still eat fast food. {just cut back}
you may still eat like a human.

Last time we did this stupid bet it was outrageous...yes amy and i lasted 50 days...but it was just crazy.

so how do you guys feel about this? is this a possibility? or am i goin alone here?

Hm.

Amy has asked me EVERYDAY, if i would just eat some ice cream, eat a piece of candy, or SOME type of sugar. She had TIM call me and ask if i would go ahead & eat some sugar. Why? so amy can enjoy life again. i mean...coooome on guys. what is this??

CHEAT DAYS SUCK

Ok, so I had my cheat day Saturday and I went through McDonald's and had a Double Cheeseburger Value Meal....I thought I'll just eat a bite here and a bite there and I'll be satisfied....NO! I plowed through the entire thing in less than 5 minutes. Needless to say, I nearly had to pull over my car to upchuck on the way home. I haven't felt that sick in quite some time. To cap it off, I couldn't not have sweets on my cheat day, so I had some chocolate chip cookies before bed.
Not only that, but I still felt nasty all day yesterday. My body was just all screwed up! Maybe if I were able to do it in moderation, I wouldn't have felt so horrible, but since that just isn't my personality.....The Moral of the Story Is: Cheat Days are NOT worth it! Lesson learned.

Hope you all didn't give in to temptation yesterday! I was still recovering from Saturday, so it wasn't even an issue! Here's to another healthy week!

hm. feels good.

i know my weight fluctuates a BIT...but...

down 8 lbs, as of this morning.

i guess the soda was really harboring my body.

that was really my biggest weakness.

Congratulations Ladies - 1 WEEK DOWN!

I hope that you are getting rid of the sugar withdrawal headaches and serious candy cravings! I'm holding up better than I thought I would at this point. Last night we brought over some fresh fruit to a friend's house for dessert. It wasn't everything below - but we did have blueberries, fresh (amazingly sweet) pineapple, strawberries, banana, apple... and I think that's all the fruit. And then add some plain yogurt, lime juice and local honey and its great. Actually, I would prefer it without the yogurt mix. But now we have lots of fruit at home to snack on.
Now when I am eating healthy sweet snacks, this is what I hope you are all eating! Okay, I don't WANT you to fail... but I WANT TO WIN! :o) Go out and enjoy some Cold Stone ladies. Just remember you will have to buy me a shirt though!

EH.

alright. alright. so i used my first cheat day. so what?! it was an accident. and i only had a dr. pepper to finish my day off. thats it. 1/3 lemonade and half a dr. pepper. crappy cheat day eh?


i'm doing fine.

i found IZZE. a 4 pack bottles.

i eat a lot less. i ate TONS of cheez-its today & an IZZE at lunchtime. and half a subway sandwich. after work.

this diet SURE is getting boring.

but OH WELL. i'm fine with boring. because if it = smaller stomach, smaller butt, smaller thighs, i'm in for it. but when it creeps in on the smaller boobs...i'm QUITTING :)

geez. LA-weez

so after not eating much this weekend...

tawni and i had barros for lunch.

no soda of course.

but there was a lemonade in the fridge at work, so i text amy asking if that was allowed, no answer.

i text traci, she said it was fine.

little did i know, as i had drinken like 1/3 of it, when amy texts me and says, well unfortunately if we can't have gatorade, then you can't. sorry.

what is a girl to do?
i also drank 2 bottles of water at work today.
here i am...did i lose?

man o man. this sucks. i have a bridal shower on the 29th, and that was gonna be my cheat day.

forget it.

So far, so good....

Still going strong...we had a family birthday dinner to go to yesterday that had homemade apple pie and ice cream for dessert. Well, we knew this going in, so Adam made sugar free vanilla pudding and blueberries for us, so that we could feel like we were eating dessert too. It was yummy!
We both worked our tushes off on the treadmill yesterday too. I was feeling really good, so I turned up the speed and started running and didn't realize anything was wrong, until I had a question for Adam about his mp3 player...so, I stood on the sides of the treadmill and went to yell for Adam who was in the other room and that's when I realized I couldn't breath...lol...so, i slowed down a bit after that, but I think it's actually turning into a habit!
Anyway, that's it for now....I'm thinking a large t-shirt??? Maybe by the time I win, it will be a medium...ok sorry..just a little trash talk! Have a great week, girlies.

well. i was excited. i figured, YES, i'll have lots of soda, candy, sugar, etc. its my last day!

not so.

i had subway for lunch, with a dr. pepper. i ate half my sandwich, and didn't finish my dr. pepper.

around 6, i went to sonic and got a cranapple slush (which slushes are out now). i didn't even drink half.

thats it. that all i ate/drank yesterday.

i was so excited to eat my Mothers frosted/sprinkled animal cookies when i got home. but i got home at 12:15am. which means, i didn't get to eat any.

oh well. here's to being healthy!!!!! & i've already lost a few lbs this week from food poisoning, so maybe i can keep it off! woohoo.

Tonight

Adam and I have been doing so well...lots of treadmill time, no soda, no sweets....we started Sunday afternoon and it's been hard, but it's very exciting to get a new healthy routine going! HOWEVER, tonight we are going to have a splurge night! I'm sitting here thinking about all the things I want, but I know I can't fit them all in...definitely some ice cream tonight. ...and a soda....mmmmm.....maybe some french fries....or doritoes....or cookies...or...well, you get the point! Then, tomorrow, we do our weigh-in with Jim and Jill for Biggest Loser! Should be interesting! Good luck to Jill and the sistas!

i'm excited.

reasons why:
  • My teeth are going to be HEALTHY (by the way i didn't have any new cavities! :) woohoo!)
  • by not drinking soda, lose weight.
  • not eating sugar, feeling healthy= NOT being sick.
  • i have to save money for the wedding stuff, therefore not spending it on junk = GOOD.
  • i have to save money, therefore i cannot buy you a shirt, which means i cannot lose :) ha ha ha.
Reasons i'm not:
  • mike is addicted to coke. so it will be really hard not having soda.
  • those monthly cravings aren't going to be easy.
  • i have a special bond with sugar, and its going to be a rough ride for us being separated.
